Question 1

What is ChainBridge?

Accepted Answer

ChainBridge is a non-custodial DEX aggregator that finds the best rates for token swaps on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche and Linea. We compare quotes from 0x, KyberSwap and ParaSwap, offer gasless swaps through 0x, and route cross-chain swaps through Relay, LI.FI and THORChain, including to native BTC, LTC, DOGE and BCH.

Question 2

Which blockchain networks does ChainBridge support?

Accepted Answer

Same-chain swaps are supported on Ethereum (1), Arbitrum (42161), Base (8453), Optimism (10), Polygon (137), BNB Chain (56), Avalanche (43114) and Linea (59144). Cross-chain swaps between these networks go through Relay and LI.FI. Through THORChain you can swap from Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain or Avalanche to native Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Bitcoin Cash. Swaps from those native coins back to EVM are quote only for now.

Question 3

How does the Smart Order Router work?

Accepted Answer

Our Smart Order Router (SOR) simultaneously queries multiple DEX aggregators to find the best execution price for your swap. It compares quotes from 0x, KyberSwap and ParaSwap, considering output amount, price impact, gas costs, and slippage. The router selects the optimal route and presents all quotes so you can compare or manually choose an aggregator.

Question 4

What are the trading fees on ChainBridge?

Accepted Answer

ChainBridge charges a small platform fee on every swap: 0.05% for trades under $1K, 0.1% for trades between $1K and $10K, and 0.2% for trades above $10K. Swaps between two USD stablecoins (USDC, USDT, DAI and similar) cost 0.01% at any size. If the trade value cannot be priced in USD, 0.1% applies. Positive slippage is never kept: if the trade executes better than quoted, the surplus goes to you. Sources that do not collect the fee compete on net amount received. When you swap through a partner embedded widget, the partner fee (allowlisted partner address, max 300 bps) replaces the ChainBridge fee. Cross-chain routes show any ChainBridge fee in the quote before you sign. The full schedule is on the About page (/about#fees). You also pay the standard network gas fees and any fees from the underlying DEX protocol. The best net output amount (after all fees) is always displayed, so you can compare before confirming.

Question 5

How does gasless trading work?

Accepted Answer

Gasless trading on ChainBridge is available through the 0x Gasless API. With 0x Gasless, you sign an EIP-712 message (free) instead of submitting an on-chain transaction. A relayer then executes the trade on your behalf, deducting a small fee from the output tokens. This lets you trade without holding the native token for gas.

Question 6

How secure are my funds?

Accepted Answer

ChainBridge is a non-custodial platform - we never hold your funds. All trades execute directly from your wallet through smart contracts. Before you sign, tokens are screened with GoPlus (honeypots, unsellable tokens and sell taxes above 10% block the swap) and, when simulation is configured, the exact transaction is simulated so a predicted revert stops it. Approvals are for the exact amount. We also implement rate limiting, CSRF protection, security headers (CSP, HSTS), Zod validation on all inputs, and API keys are kept server-side only. However, DeFi carries inherent risks including smart contract vulnerabilities and price volatility. Always verify transactions before signing.

Question 7

What wallets are supported?

Accepted Answer

ChainBridge supports all major wallets through RainbowKit integration, including MetaMask, WalletConnect (200+ wallets), Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, Trust Wallet, and more. Simply click "Connect Wallet" to see all available options. Make sure your wallet is connected to one of our supported networks before trading.

Question 8

What is MEV protection?

Accepted Answer

MEV (Maximal Extractable Value) protection prevents bots from front-running or sandwich-attacking your transactions to extract value. ChainBridge reduces MEV exposure through RFQ market-maker quotes and gasless orders (0x) and through slippage limits: a trade that would fill below your minimum reverts instead of executing.

Question 9

What happens if a transaction fails?

Accepted Answer

If a transaction fails, your funds remain in your wallet. You only lose the gas fee spent up to the failure point. Common causes include insufficient gas, high slippage (price moved beyond your tolerance), expired quotes, or network congestion. You can retry with a higher slippage tolerance or during lower congestion.

Question 10

What is a DEX aggregator and how does ChainBridge find the best rates?

Accepted Answer

A DEX aggregator compares prices across multiple decentralized exchanges simultaneously. ChainBridge's Smart Order Router queries 0x, ParaSwap and KyberSwap in parallel and selects the route that gives you the most tokens for your swap. This can save 1-5% compared to using a single DEX.

Question 11

How does gasless trading work?

Accepted Answer

With gasless trading, you sign an EIP-712 message instead of submitting an on-chain transaction. A relayer (0x Gasless API) submits the transaction on your behalf and pays the gas. You still approve the token spend via Permit2, but the actual swap costs you zero gas. Available on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche (not Linea).

Question 12

What is impermanent loss and should I worry about it?

Accepted Answer

Impermanent loss occurs when the price ratio of tokens in a liquidity pool changes compared to when you deposited. The greater the price change, the larger the loss. For example, a 2x price change results in approximately 5.7% IL. However, trading fees earned can offset this loss over time, especially in high-volume pools.
